AnyWay Solid Environmental Solutions Awarded Certificate of Appreciation from the Papua New Guinea Department of Works & Implementation

The Papua New Guinea Department of Works & Implementation has presented AnyWay with an award in recognition of its particular contribution to the Department’s success in achieving its 2014 performance goals. AnyWay staff engineer, Dereje Tesfu, received the Certificate of Appreciation from the Department’s Regional Works Manager in a ceremony in Hagen in December. AnyWay has completed several projects rehabilitating and upgrading the Highlands Highway and the Enga Highway.

The Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development Approved the Use of ANSS

The Kenyan Ministry of Roads, through its Materials Branch, has officially approved the use of AnyWay’s Natural Soil Stabilizer (ANSS) for the construction of roads in Kenya. This welcome news is the result of an extremely thorough evaluation process that has taken six years to complete, and included lab testing as well as field testing and evaluation of an ANSS-stabilized road section over the full six year period. ANSS, cement and lime are the only stabilizers to be approved for use on all road levels in Kenya. The official approval of ANSS allows consulting engineering firms to include it in their road pavement designs in Kenya. Indeed, leading consulting engineering firms in Kenya, such as Wonjohi Consulting Engineers are already doing so. Kenyan road projects will now realize the benefits from the use of ANSS following the publication of this official approval by the Ministry.

Ethiopia Road Construction Company Has Executed a MOU with AnyWay Solid Environmental Solutions

The government of Ethiopia, through its own force construction company Ethiopia Road Construction Company (ERCC), has executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with AnyWay. The MOU contemplates the companies entering into a strategic partnership for the maintenance and repair of roads in Ethiopia. The intention is to enhance the rehabilitation and upgrading of roads through the use of AnyWay’s stabilization solutions. AnyWay is to provide training and transfer knowledge to ERCC personnel in the best methods and procedures for utilizing AnyWay’s solutions for road pavement stabilization and rehabilitation. The companies will initiate testing and design processes for specific projects in collaboration with the Ethiopian Roads Authority Research and Development Department with a view to maximizing the potential of AnyWay’s solutions to enhance the programs of the government in this sector.

Rwanda Leverages AnyWay’s Expertise in Soil Stabilization and Road Rehabilitation

AnyWay Solid Environmental Solutions was invited by the Rwandan National Roads Authority to put on a seminar regarding advanced solutions in road pavement design based on soil stabilization and road rehabilitation. The event was held in Kigali in collaboration with Saba Engineering the Ethiopian consulting firm. AnyWay’s Director of Engineering Solutions, Alex Campbell, provided the attendees also with a review of work AnyWay carried out in Rwanda 6 years earlier, when the Komironko Road was rehabilitated and stabilized in collaboration with the Kigali City Administration.

PNG has extended Wabag project by additional 12 Km

The Department of Works & Implementation (DOW) of Papua New Guinea has extended the project of the Enga highway by additional 12 Km to be rehabilitated through AnyWay’s engineering design based on using AnyWay’s soil stabilizer, ANSS. This decision has been made as a result of achieving the engineering requirements set for the first section of the road. The project will connect the capitol of Enga province, Wabag, with the town of Wapemananda. Further extension of this rehabilitation project is considered. Further, DOW has decided to start the rehabilitation of a 20 Km section of the Highlands Highway using ANSS. Additional projects are also being evaluated for rehabilitation with AnyWay’s stabilization technology.

AnyWay technology in Papua New Guinea

AnyWay has signed an MOU with subsequent two agreements for the supply of its products and technical services with the Government of Papua New Guinea for the construction of 75 Km roads in the country. The first phase of the MOU is expected to start in December of 2011. AnyWay will provide technical assistance for the design and will also provide training for the technical staff of the Department Of Works & Implementation in the applications process and Quality Control procedures.
